Need an FPS game that is free to play and works on both Mac and Windows 10

Hi guys, I need some suggestions for a First Person Shooter that works on the platforms I mentioned. Basically, this is because I have a "friend" that uses a mac and is boastful as **** and also preaches the supremacy of the mac, therefore me and another friend (we are both certified members of the PC master race) we want to take him down a few notches, basically by beating him in both meanings of FPS. He says he's so good at shooters, bla bla bla, but I reckon I could beat him, and so does my friend. So yeah, we just need a game where we can take him on. Thanks for the help.

If he has mac he should be able to buy CSGO, costs 11 euros, 5 on promo. Best shooter at the moment, only one which can run on both mac and windows.

Yeh CS:GO is probably best option, doesn't cost much and can be transferred to different pc's from your steam account.

CS:GO is great, but if you're looking for a F2P game and can't afford 7.50 for CS, Dirty Bomb is one of the best F2P games out there, and Tom Clancy's Phantoms is also good.

TF2 isn't really an FPS in the sense that the OP wants it to be, as he states he wants to play his friend on it. I think OP means something along the lines of BF4 sort of FPS.

Yeah, something like COD or BF, but it needs to work on both mac and windows, and be FREE. This is only for like one afternoon, so no way am I or my friends spending 7.50 each for a test. Also, I really don't like what I've seen of CS GO, it seems to be a constant grind with the match being entirely dependant on having a good team. I'll look at dirty bomb though.

--Update--
Guys, please actually check before suggesting anything, because dirty bomb is not for mac, nor is Phantoms.

Oh my bad, I swear they were mac compatible!

An amazing competitive game that's free and in beta at the moment is Unreal Tournament.
Definitely runs on mac, double checked it this time >.<
