So i see a tonne of builds with the Asus ROG VIII. Not so many with the Fatality k6+. But i really like the aesthetics of the Fatality- it will look great in my corsair 400c case.

Convince me otherwise. Prices are the same basically. Going to use 4x 4gb 3200 Gskills. i5-6600k

No way to convince you otherwise. People just pick asus because they believe it is better, while right now the quality of motherboards with the top dogs is pretty much equal so you would not be doing a mistake by going for the asrock. They both support extremely fast memory, both support high overclocks, both have quad way sli, same expansion options, same usbs. It's pretty much the top tier boards from both companies and the difference, if there is any, is so insignificant that you can notice it only with benchmarks and not real world performance.

By looking at the 4pin chassis fan connectors. Both boards have 4 of those, but the asrock has an additional CPU fan 4pin so it has 1 4pin extra. Also no point in having that many frankly speaking, but if you do have, you can connect them to a controller. Generally with this you can use the CPU fan headers (good on the asrock cause it has 2, one for the pump one for the fans of liquid cooling) and the other 4 for the 4 positions on the chassis fans (rear side top and front). When you connect them to the 4pins of the board they will be PWM thus the motherboard can control them depending on the temperatures. If not, then you can connect them directly to the PSU and they will run at full power.

I build on Asus, the Rock and GB, I normally go Asus for personal builds for their in depth BIOS (as well as keeping it up to date), the compatibility with other components, OC ability and I like they normally run cool. As builder I'm constantly testing new components (GPUs, DRAM, Coolers and the like), like a good stable platform for mine ;)

Can someone please explain to me what USB 3.1 Front panel is on the Asrock Fatality k6+?

For 20$ more do I really need this over the k6?

I also don't see this working for my Corsair 400c case... since from what I see these set in front drivebays, which 400c has none.
