I have an existing desktop with an HDD drive that has Windows 10 and I want to install a new SSD drive and install Windows 7 Ultimate on the SSD drive and choose which OS to use at start-up.

Do I disconnect the HDD drive and install windows 7 on the SSD then reconnect the HDD drive?

Thanks

Hey there, Tyrion12.

Well you've pretty much figured it out by yourself. This is the way to do it, but not that most probably you'd have to select which drive you want to boot from, each time you want to use the OS from the secondary drive. What I mean is that you probably won't get asked beforehand which OS to start as you're using different drives with different boot priority.

Cheers!
