Hi,

Newbie here.

First, here's my computer specifications.

Processor: A8-7600
Motherboard: EMX-A70FM2+ICAFE [Generic]
Memory: 2x4gb 1866mhz
Power Supply (PSU): 600w [Generic]

I'm trying to look for a cheap video card, I'm not looking to use it on high-end games. Just for Dota 2.

Currently I'm having 50-60 fps. I want to have 100-120 fps since.

I tried to search and saw R7 240 (dual graphics I think), but I'm not yet satisfied with the reviews.

What would you recommend?

I'd honestly go with the 750Ti, depending on how much cheaper you found the R7 260X. The 750Ti in outperform the R7 260X in most games. The 750Ti also uses less power than the 260X, so OC'ing could work out better for you. But you have a decent power supply, so either one would really work.

The 750 is a fantastic choice. Price to performance is SO good on that card.

Thank you.

I was able to look for it and I saw this one (R7 260X).

A bit cheaper than GTX 750 TI and better performance, base on http://www.futuremark.com/.

So should I go for the R7 260X or the one that you recommend?

even the 9600GT can play it

"The 9600GT is playable on all presets except presets 3 and 4, delivering only 25 fps each." - http://www.gamingpcbuilder.com/dota-2-reborn-hardware-performance-benchmark/3/

also try at console - “fps_max 500”

↑ what this fella said. Unless you have a 120hz monitor, but i guess you dont, otherwise you could be affording also a better rig :S

Also, I have a 260x myself and it does nice with everything i throw to it, specially considering the price on which I bought it more than 2 years ago (110€).
I'd say that if you found it 15 to 20 $/€ cheaper then go for the 260x.

To play DOTA and the like it is overkill, and it also defends itself nicely in the more intensive games; I play GTA5 online with High shaders and the rest at medium/high, 1080p 50+fps, getting down to 30 as the bare minimum when turning around when driving or when in extremely large scenes with lots of stuff to render. I say that it does a great job for a sub 120$ card.

If you go for the 260x though, your power supply must have a 6 pin pci-e conector to feed the card. Have that in mind and if your PSU lacks that, then go for the 750ti as that card works just with the power the pci-e port supplies to it.
