I only have a question... As I was planning to purchase an ASUS VG248QE monitor, I wanted to first make sure that it is possible to plug the monitor into my laptop via the Mini Display Port (I have a cable that goes from MiniDP to Duali-link DVI) and be able to use 144hz video (I have an nVidia GTX 960m graphics card).

Thoughts?

Solution
It should work right off the bat. Both DP and DVI are digital, so there is no need for converters or anything like that which you see in VGA to DVI adapters.

I thought the VG248QE had a Display Port input?

It does, but I already have a cable that's MiniDP to D-DVI so as long it works, then I won't bother going to buy a new cable if I don't have to.

So, it turns out that MiniDP to DVI-D does NOT work. Just got the monitor today and can't select 144hz as a display option in the Control Panel. Unless someone else has an idea, I might have to find a MiniDP to DP cable, since HDMI doesn't word that way, and my only other port is the MiniDP. :(
