I have an asus pt6 deluxe motherboard with an i7 920 cpu running at 2.66 ghz and I wanted to overclock it to around 3.4.

I tried changing the base clock speed from 133 to 160 but I'm having stability issues. Is there more options I need to change instead of only the base clock?

I have 16 gigs of ddr3 ram
Gtx 960 4 gig

If someone could please tell me what else I need to change in bios beside just the base clock. I'm using the stock cooler.

Sorry for the late response. It looks like your RAM is set to 1333 on the XMP profile. The only voltages I adjusted are CPU voltage and QPI/DRAM voltage. Both were set to 1.35 volt. I manually set the RAM voltage to 1.65v but that's what my RAM kit calls for.

My BCLK was set to 190Mhz. Also remember when you adjust this it increases the other speeds in the system, including RAM, uncore & QPI. When you increase your BCLK, you need to adjust your memory speed to compensate to bring it back down close to 1333. Whatever your memory speed turns out to be set your uncore to twice that manually, 2666 for example. Just be aware that 6400 MT is stock(choice of this or 4800MT) for QPI speed, but this changes based on your BCLK settings. I...
I wouldn't recommend high OC's with stock cooler. Have you read the OC sticky threads for some background on OCing before starting. With that said, what's your voltage set to, namely Vcore and QPI/DRAM? I have the same motherboard w/ a 980X. I used to have an i7 920 in this board running at 3.8Ghz.

I think I left everything else on auto. This was a pretty painless OC to do if I recall for this board and CPU. If your trying to go higher, that could be another story.

Hope this info helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
