Hello, I currently am using a Gateway DX4380G-UW308 as my gaming computer but the CPU is very underpowered and I think it's bottlenecking my graphics card so I am looking to upgrade my build.
My current build is
CPU-A6-5400k
Graphics card-R9 380 4gb Powercolor
PSU-XFX 550w 80 Plus
RAM-8gb DDR3
OS-Windows 10 64-bit
Harddrive-1TB SATA/300 7,200rpm
Motherboard-Acer AAHD3-VC
Monitor-Acer 23'' H236HL BID 1920 x 1080
I think my ram, psu, and graphics card are all sufficient but I can't even run fallout 4 on the lowest settings.
I wanted to just replace the cpu but it seems that's not possible because of the motherboard so now I need suggestions on what mobo and CPU to buy that will be compatible with the rest of my stuff.
My budget right now is about $300 for mobo and CPU (I have more money put aside for OS and Harddrive not included in that $300), but I would really like to keep it closer to $200 if possible. I really just want to be able to play fallout 4 and witcher 3 on medium settings with at least 45fps, but I also don't want to cheap out on my cpu now and have to go through the same process in 2 or 3 years.
Thanks in advance
P.S. Sorry if I sound dumb, I'm a high schooler with little knowledge on computer parts.
