Hello everyone, I was playing csgo while my pc shut down and would not turn back on until i switch the power on and off. I did a stress test to see if it would work and it shut down during it. My graphics card is the MSI r9 390 8gb, my processor is the amd fx 8350, and i have the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750 B 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 750W for my power supply, I figured that it could be my power supply getting old and not working anymore because it is 3 years old, also my processor temps seem good in my bios 22c-28c idle. My question is, is it my power supply dieing from being too old? or is it my graphics card not having enough wattage from my psu? thank you very much and let me know if you need more details.

Solution
Yes. My guess is after that many years, capacitors are failing, and protections are kicking in and shutting off the unit because the voltage regulation (which is already bad) was getting too out of hand. If you want a great power supply, the Supernova B2 is fantastic and such a good price.

Solution
Also, funny, I just helped someone else earlier today with the exact same problem as you, and he also owned an NEX 750B. Don't be fooled by brand always: EVGA does not make power supplies, they only sell them. Always come to places like Toms for good information on what power supplies to trust and avoid, we're always happy to assist. :)
