I have always wondered which of these two cards are better and can overclock higher and stay cooler without modding it with custom water cooling setups. I can not find any comparisons between the two anywhere so i thought maybe you guys would know. Also what is the average overclock most 980Ti's get to? I heard it was 1500MHz.

''Well the Hybrid was something i was going to get but i saw that the MSI, STRIX, and others overclocked much higher for some reason''

you aint guaranteed nothing with any card/brand you get and Maxwell is not like the older generations by far

[you got to look past all the hype and more to the facts ]

I take any reviews with a grain of salt and what they report may not be what you got at your house [they receive hand picked cards for the reviews and little things like that , not run of the mill cards picked up randomly at newegg or amazon as you will ]

luck of the draw -- you see it said all...
From a performance point of view, you can't tell the difference.
Both are well binned and factory overclocked. I would not bother trying for more.
If you want to split hairs, the EVGA FTW is a tad faster.

The EVGA ha a slightly better warranty. 3 years parts and labor vs. 3/2.

Ok well if the Strix goes down he will get that but man i hate where it cost more than a Titan X. I heard their was an earth quak that caused the Price of the Strix to go over $1,000 or something. DO you think the Strix beats the FTW?

Well i know this is random but i am over 80% deaf so i do not care lol. In fact i have 2 Delta THA1248BE i got from an old friend i use on my Radiator lmao! But i get what you mean thanks :) So pretty much i do not care about how loud anything is and i just care about performance.

I think all you get is a 980 ti in the end , but then if something were to go wrong I feel evga has the better support and easy rma warrantee service .
that in its self could go a long way if ever needed . out side of that it just another 980 ti with a fancy cooler on it [air]

now I recommend there 980 ti hybrid if you cn catch it at the 689 price and I see there starting to ship with the new led shroud ? [check out reviews from egg]

hard to beat the cooling on that over you may get lucky and get a air card that will run under 80c at load 60c idle
good luck

luck of the draw -- you see it said all the time

you got to do as ''YOU'' feel is best for you and your need in the end it will work as you expect or it will not .. that's all there is to it

good luck

My two favorite brands of GTX 980 Ti's. I always thought they were pretty evenly matched as far as overclocking ability. But I would give the edge to EVGA based on their strong technical support. I'm on the phone with them all the time, asking questions about their GPUs and PSUs.

Thanks for the info it helped a lot :) So when it comes down to it pretty much every 980Ti will be the same except for the Reference blower ones so at this point my friend should pick which looks the best if they all perform pretty much the same and if money is no limit right? My Friend said he will be getting the MSI Gold edition 980Ti not because it comes with copper but because he likes the look of it. I wish i would have known this because i bought the STRIX 980Ti because i always saw it having a few more FPS than the MSI, FTW, HYBRID, EXTREME so i got it but man i think its such an ugly ass card but oh well lol Still performs good.

looks don't make performance you could have a rig that looks like hammered cat crap that kicks a$$ to one that looks like a showroom display example ? all I car about is whats throwed up on my display and not to be lagging when I'm a fragging

it hard to over look a card that out of the box plug and play gets maybe 50c max full load ?? aand think the evga classy is 1190 and the hybrid is 1140 ?

think you will see that difference everyday use ?? all I can say and give is my opinion for consideration in the end its your call for you rig , not mine .. only you decide on what you feel is best for you not me , him , or the guy down the street --

no matter what you decide it will work as you expect or it will not with any part any brand . dude I got a box full of ''good'' junk , so....

Oh well you said is get the same outcome no matter what 980Ti i got so if they all have the same exact performance i thought i would pick which looks best right?

thing is what you see in reviews may not be close to what you get at your house in your rig .. there promoting so??
I myself got to look at more then fps do I want the air card that's faster some what but may idle at up to 60c and heat up to 85c ?? I'm sure a higher clocked card ''should'' do better but by what ? 3 or 4 fps ? if the card fails out side of store rma who's going to have me covered the best with factory brand support [brand rma] ??

you have to base you decision on your thoughts and needs and how you look at things overall - I'm just giving a opinion

seems like if clocks were the thing to you the zotac air card is like 1253 ?? get it its the best , right ??

I never even mentioned i was going by just clock speeds. I just asked if the Classified or MSI 980Ti would be a better buy. I never have time to research much due to my stupid job and i always come here to Toms Hardware for quick and reliable answers and that is always what i get and i really appreciate all those who contribute to helping others on here. :)

tough call there both nice cards and why I say you will get the same from either .. thing is say something were to go wrong after the sale and store rma runs out who has your back the best - there I have to lean towards evga and there known excellent support ??

you know it all about personal preferences on what you feel is right for you

also look at the FTW as well

al 3 I'm sure are nice cards so it may just come down to the little things [support -size- coolers - vrm- ect.. ] to me as ''I'' see things thee hybrid I feel is the better overall package and fully backed by evga warrantee on everything and its full load temps nice factory oc [1140 ] water cooled plug and play , but that's just me
