So im a console gamer right now and i know from my experiences that even though the graphic quality is not pristine the frame rate is consistent meaning there is rare frame rate drops. Is this the same on pc? Or will i experience random frame rate drops every now and than (more frequent than console)?

Well, from what I know, all the games on Xbox or Playstation are mainly built for that console, and come pre-fixed graphics wise to suit that machine. And depending on how much you pay for, or what you put in your PC, determines how well your gameplay will be. On certain games, the Xbox or Playstation can barely handle a solid 30 fps at 1080p, while with other games, it rocks it at 1080p @ 60fps. And on some other games, PC completely destroys Console games. Also, frame drops will also depend on your internet bandwidth. So all in all, if you build a good gaming-dedicated PC, and have decent Wi-Fi, you're good to go.

Hope this helps!

PC fps generally isn't capped like you've experienced with a console. Its more open slather on PC making it your own decision to meet system requirements of games you want to run and at what settings. Because of this frame fluctuations/inconsistencies can come about depending on hardware/graphic settings used.

Some of the things users can try to smooth out game play is limiting the fps manually either through an application or if a game has built-in commands for this like CS-GO game console fps_max. The use of Vsync in the graphics card control panel is also another means of smoothing out game play as well as using a Freesync or Gsync capable monitor.

Its not all that difficult learning a PC but will be less spoon feeding compared to consoles :)
