I'm replacing the power supply on an HP Envy 750-116. This PC uses a laptop style DVD burner. The power for the DVD is from a 2 pin connector BUT the plug looks like a tiny SATA. (the HP tech support called it a 2 pin connector. Of course it actually has 2 wires.)
I need to know what it is called so I can get a molex-to-whatever_It_Is adapter.

And this is what the plug plugs into (a Samsung SU-208GB DVD burner)

And I got the answer.
This is what I need.

Hi

It is probably a micro or mini SATA connector

you can get SATA to mini SATA adapters to which you connect normal SATA data & power plugs on one side and laptop (thin) DVD drive on the other side

cancel the above you pictures did not show up when I first viewed the post
you have a connector with two wires NOT 2 pins

does a standard SATA data cable connect to the drive?

update
apparently laptop DVD drives use mini SATA connectors
micro connectors are commonly used on 1.8" hard drives

see example at
