So I have a 3570k, 7950 and an Asrock Z77 pro4 m, here's the manual. The HD audio port is blocking me from putting my 7950 in the PCI 3.0 slot but I heard it would be fine if I put it in the PCI 2.0 x16 slot. So I did, but I looked at crimson and under hardware it said that my current bus settings were PCI 2.0 x1 which I'm afraid might be decreasing my fps quite a bit. I also looked at gpu z where it says its currently at
PCI-Express x1 v2.0. I've said why I can't put in PCI 3.0 and I'd prefer opening my pc up again as a last resort, does anyone know what I could do?

Solution
No but it will run at x4 which should prevent it from being significantly bottlenecked (keyword: significantly). You could unplug front panel audio and use a couple of 3.5mm cable extenders to get to the rear IO audio.
