Hello,

I've built a couple of computers before, but this one has me stumped. It seems my motherboard and case are getting power. When turning on the power supply, I see a flash of light on my case power button, and the power light on the mother board, "mood" lighting, and clr_CMO's is always on. There is no other lighting on other then this. No error code at all. Nothing happens when I try to power on the computer either with the case or directly from the motherboard. Hopefully someone can help figure out what I am doing wrong!

Comp Specs.

NZXT H440 Razer Edition.
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO ALHPA
I7-6700k
EVGA 980 TI Classified
Corsair (2x16GB) Dominator 3200 hz
Corsair hx1000i power supply
Corsair h100iv2 liquid cooling
Samsung 500 GB SSD Black
2x 2GB Sata drives

I've checked everything plugged in and everything seems tight. I've tried switching RAM, one at a time and both by themselves in the standard slot. I've tried unplugging the graphics card. I checked the CPU and there didn't seem to be any issues. I've checked all the case to motherboard plugs and everything seems to be in the right place.

Really at a loss! Any ideas why the motherboard would be getting power but nothing turning on when I hit the switch?

I tried testing the power supply with the method you described and nothing happens. The only thing that I can get spinning is the power supply fan, but ONLY when pushing the Fan text button on the power supply. The power supply and external fan do nothing then following the video you provided.

Does this mean I have a faulty power supply?

So I went out and bought a new power supply. Low and behold, it passed the test you described. I plugged everything in and the computer booted up perfectly! Thank you so much for the help!
