installing steam games from retail disc

Before i start i want to state the fact that i am from India and here internet speeds are not really good.I am planning to buy a retail copy of cs go but i am confused . How can i install cs go from the retail dvd ? How can i get the updates and how can i add it on steam ?Is it better to buy it from steam instead ?

retail copy of it contains "at launch" version of the game, usually 1.0 or so.
You install it with the cd and activation code inside the game box which adds it to steam library.
after that, Steam will check the game, determine what needs updating (Likely a lot) and download said updates.
you will save maybe 1GB at most out of I think 3 or 4gb.

alternately, you can just add the game with the code to steam and let steam download full game.
