Can I upgrade a dell dimension xps gen3 Pentium 4 with Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz Clock Speed 2.8Ghz L2 Cache of 1024?
I should add that I am trying to salvage the cpu from my failed Studio XPS 8000 by upgrading the Dimension XPS. I also have the heatsink from the Studio XPS. Will be using original PSU that came with Dimension. It has 3 SATA hard drives 250, 149 and 149gb. 4gb ram. Everything else, all original parts.
Right now running MS flight simulator 9, using Win Xp. Cleaned dust out and noticed a slight decrease in noise level but still on the loud end.
