Add More Ram memory

I have computer with 4 gig ram but its single chanel, is it posibble for me to add more 4 ram single ? So it will be 8 gig ?

1. determine if there's an extra slot for the new stick
2. find out the model number of that ram, and if possible, buy the exact same one.

Even if it's an identical module it may or may not be compatible.

Best purchased in pairs for compatibility.

So what shld i do ? Buy new dual chanel memory 2x4 gig or buy 4 gig single ?
