Weird CPU temperatures...

I'm having an AMD FX-4300 CPU(not overclocked) and using Speccy and Open Hardware Monitor to monitor my system temperatures. All components show practical temperatures with my current cooling solution(1 exhaust fan, 1 intake fan and a stock cpu air cooler). However, the CPU temperatures are a bit confusing. At load the temperatures go around 40 -41 C (which is still acceptable) but at idle they are around 5-8 C and sometimes even at 0 C (all these temps were under the room temperature being around 25 C). I don't think the stock air cooler by AMD can do so well that it made my CPU cooler than what it is in the surrounding. It could be possible with a liquid cooler but certainly not with an air cooler(theoretically).
If someone knows why I'm getting these temps, please help...

I started a thread with a similar query a week or so ago...Nothing is broken.... use AMD system monitor /overdrive for your temperature readings. Forget Speccy and OpenHWM and in my own personal experience, forget MSI afterburner for reporting accurate temperatures. First of all boot into BIOS and report back with your CPU temperature. :)

Its safe to run the CPU as long as the CPU fan is on. If the CPU fan stops running the CPU might not shut down because your motherboard wont know it`s overheating, causing it to burn out. Ask AMD for a replacement CPU.

Do not mind that, AMD CPUs are well known for not showing temperatures correctly if below 40c, for example my FX-6300 running at idle with a Hyper T4 shows as 14c, while my room is around 20c.
By the way, AMD Overdrive is the most accurate temperature reading software for reading AMD temperatures, install it and check the thermal margins (The thermal margin should be atleast 10c when on full load)

Thank you so much! I just checked my CPU temps from the BIOS and they were just perfectly fine( 32 C).

Thank you for your answer, it was really helpful. However, someone else just solved my query but still I'm thankful to you too...

You are most welcome. Your thermal margin is really something you should pay attention to in AMD overdrive for monitoring your CPU temps. The lower the margin the more you should worry about temps and vice versa with a higher thermal margin i.e. worry less. All my best.
