Dell optiplex 755 gpu+CPU upgrade

Hello guys, i have an old dell optiplex 755 sff laying around. And i thought i could maybe upgrade it.

To make clear: the old optiplex is part of my memories because i played games in it while i was young and back then, my dad upgraded it wit an 512mb gpu. It could play any game i wanted but NOW....
I know this PC isnt going to game that well and i know i better can get a new PC.

So back to the point.
The specs:
Core 2 duo e4500 2.4ghz
280 watt psu
6gb ddr2 ram
500gb hdd
HD 5450(1gb i think)
I wanted to upgrade my CPU and gpu
Maybe an quad core q9650
And wich gpu should i get???

there is not much you can run you maybe can run a r7 240 but it is not much of an upgrade i think you may want to just get a new pc you can get at least 120$ for yours maybe 150$

Yes you are right, but that is not the answer i want to hear.
I already have an gamig rig that i builded in 2014 with i7 gtx980
I already bought the q9650
Maybe i can get a HD 7750.
I have an 400 watt psu laying around so wich gpu will fit

the mini version should work i dont know if the large would work so maybe stick with the small

Question, wil an r7 250 work?
It is single slot but i DONT know how much watt it USE

I used to have this model, I upgraded mine to 8gb ram, Q9650, and a GTX 750Ti LP, could play lots of games. these were built tough. If your upgrading the GPU, it has to be a Low Profile card or it wont fit. I used the 750Ti because it doesn't need and 6 Pin power connector to run it.

then a r7 250 will work however it is not going to last for more than like a year or two as the recommended is 300w but the absolute min is 250w so it will work
