Can my 970 be powered by my 500w Power Supply

I want to get a Asus Strix 970 gpu as a upgrade I have a AMD FX 6300 and a 970 gaming motherboard will my thermaltake 500w power supply be able to run the 970 please help thanks

Which model PSU is it? Make on it's own doesn't tell us enough

Does it have 28 or more amps on the 12v rail? If it does, then your good to go.
You can find this information stickered on the side of your PSU.

Can't find much on it but it looks like a really low quality unit with 2x12v rails at 14A and 16A. That's really weak for a claimed 500w PSU. Technically it is enough but I wouldn't spend good money on a high quality GPU and run it off a low quality PSU. Use that list as a guide. Tier 1 or 2, 500w is the lowest but I would go 550 or 600w as it's better to have headroom. Then its finding one on sale near you.
