Hi,

I was playing GTA V and all a sudden my computer shut down everything. The whole system just went off.

I then pressed the power button again to try turn it on but it does not turn on.

Please help me, what is the issue? My system is pretty new, only built it a few months ago.

My specs:

Intel i3 4170
AMD R9 270X
MSi H81M R35 V2 Motherboard
8GB Hyper x Fury RAM
750GB Seagate ES HDD
1TB Western Digital Blue HDD
EVGA 500W White Plus PSU

I just tried to turn it on again and momentarily it flashed on then went off. Could it be that my CPU overheated?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did experience a slight decline in gaming performance before it shut down. Unfortunately i don't have another PSU. I've tried to turn it on a couple of times but it just momentarily provides power before turning off. Would I be able to get a replacement from EVGA as it's still pretty new?

This is just terrible for me. I only just bought a new HDD for the failing seagate drive. Now the PSU fails :(

Crap, how can tell if the other parts have failed? This is going to be a complete disaster for me.

That's really unfortunate. Just a quick question, do you think any of my parts have been affected due to this? Afterall the PSU says it has over voltage, under voltage, short circuit, over current and over temp protection. Same with the motherboard claiming it has surge protection.

I just do not want to start having to RMA all my parts. I've had my system for far less than a year.

Can someone please help on what to do next? Can I RMA my PSU as it has 3 year warranty?

Is it also best to leave my system alone for now. I've tried a couple of times to start it up but again it just powers down after a second of pressing the power button.
