Hello,

I would like to connect my old, laptop HDD to my desktop, however,I can't find any compatible cables amongst those that came with my desktop.

The drive:

Should it be possible,I imagine I would also need a 3,5 inch case since this drive is too small?

Solution
Presumably, your desktop is from this decade. In which case all you need is a SATA data cable.
The SATA power cable comes directly off the PSU.

As for mounting? What case is it? Many in the last few years have a dedicated 2.5" mount.
If not, then yes, you'd need a 2.5"->3.5" adapter. $5-$8 maybe.
