So I just recently bought a usb wifi adapter. I went to install it and immediately ran into issues.

First windows will not recognize it, no biggie I'll go to device manager and update the drivers. However windows immediately disconnects the adapter.

So to get the setup program to run I have to get to the point where it says plug in the device and plug it in and hit ok simultaneously. In those brief seconds windows will install the driver, but will say it's unrecognized and disconnects it again.

Next I went into dev mngr and made sure all the power settings for the USB hubs weren't shutting it off.

Then made sure I had all the current time drivers, and dl to my laptop and transferred over if they were not.

Updated my bios and chipset

Uninstalled the USBs in dev mngr and restarted.

I successfully installed it on another computer, and use other USB devices in the same ports.

I'm at a lost

Is this your alleged "culprit" device? If so have you downloaded the altest drivers found off their support site? You may want to run the installer in an elevated command i.e Right click>Run as administrator.

On a side note, try and use the wireless adapter without the aid of a USB hub and connect it directly to the laptop and see if you can make progress. Speaking of laptop's, can you please pass on the make and model of your unit?
