Hard drive light not on

Hi there Karl_7,
There could be something wrong with your HDD. Do you get some kind of an error message?
My suggestion would be to try something simple as just attaching the drive with different cables(both SATA and power ones) to a different SATA port.
In case the issue persists, you will need to either use some data recovery tool for DOS mode, as your system can't boot, or take the drive out and attach it to another system.
You can attach it:
- Internally with SATA and power cables.
- Externally with SATA to USB adapter + power cord in case the drive is 3.5''.
