I just put together a new PC, first from scratch, and after some initial problems with the OS, I now can't connect to the internet. When I try, it says I don't have a network adapter driver installed. So, I download that from another computer, put it on a USB drive, and it's not showing up in Device Manager or My Computer on the new PC. I have a seperate issue with the case fans, connected to the power supply, not running, but I'd prefer to deal with the driver problem first. Thanks for any help offered.

Device Manager should show your adapter, whether ethernet or WIFI, if you don't see, HARDWARE ISSUE.

If the adapter doesn't have a driver then it shows up as a Yellow Question Mark, and is prompting you to install the CORRECT driver for it.

I always recommend installing driver from Mobo's vendor, NOT Microsoft.
