More about replaced power supply compaq desktop receiving error syttem fan failure hit
  1. Title says "replaced PSU", but text below title says "replaced motherboard".
    Please clarify.
  2. Yes initially we replaced the PSU only to find a problem with mother board. We replaced mother board unit powers up but error now is system fan failure hit f2 to continue. The pc will go to start normal or in safe mode, either selection it goes back to system fan error hit f2 to continue
  3. Re-check for thin cable(s) missing from a connector on one of the fans.
  4. the system has a cpu fan only there is no other fan on the unit. also the cpu fan is spinning i was able to look in the bios, i found the cpu temp was being monitored but there was no section for system fan nor to alter cpu fan modes it was all greyed out
