i got a i5 4690k
gygabite z97x gaming 3

one of my ram when nuts and broke with me, so now im trying to buy a new pair of rams

i got my eyes on the Gskill Sniper serie, but im a little confused about the features on this RAM sticks

F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2
this one for example says its compatible with LGA1155 and i dont know if it will work on my lga 1150

F3-1600C9S-8GSR
and this one says "To reach rated memory speed, enabling Intel XMP profile or manual BIOS tuning is required"

Im not overclocking or plan to overclock unless its nedeed but i want to have all settle when i need to OC

are this RAM good? would you guys recommend another ones?

Corsair makes pretty good ram. Most ram is compatible as long as its DDR3 or DDR4 Depending on your board. Corsair Vengenace, Dominators, or Ripjaws are supposed to be the best and reliable.

Corsair double g.skill prices

And ripjaws and sniper are both from g.skill so as far as i understand they will have same reliability

So i guess ill stick to the 8gbsr2 (first link "compatible with 1155") unless someone have something more to say!

Because I understand XMP its some kind of auto oc feature that don't assure it being stable

Edit: I just noticed this ram are made for p67 and p55 boards

I know this will do basically no difference but I like to have everything smooth and get all the pieces juice

So, since my board its a z97x and my CPU support a max of 1600 ram

Can somene tell me a RAM that its made for a z97x board 1600mhz 8gb cl9

I think im asking too much

If im being really stupid please explain me why!

I like to learn about this subjects

That's just the mobos that were current when the sticks were released they are fine with Haswell (your CPU line). XMP is just to allow for easy setup, so you don't have to set the sticks up manually to their rated timings, been around for years and perfectly safe ;)
