I have a budget of around $1500(approx 90,000 INR) my current desktop is c2d e7500 @2.93 Ghz with 4 gigs of ddr2 ram. I am going to college so I need a laptop but I am stuck, should I divide the budget to upgrade to a reasonable gaming desktop and buy a 700-800 dollar notebook or Use my whole budget to buy a decent notebook which can be used for gaming? Suggestions.

I understand you're from India so my suggestions don't apply directly. But you can use them as a guideline, roughly. You should be able to get both for that budget. Both a decent gaming desktop, as well as a great laptop for basic everyday use on the go, for school.
