Can a 850w psu handle this config?

2x 980 Ti at max air OC
i7-4790K stock
2x8gb 2400mhz
2x7200rpm hdd
1xssd 512gb
1x little case led

Also will x8/x8 be a bottleneck for the 980ti's?

Lastly if i have this config and the psu breaks down when it is under warranty and it kills one 980 ti . Will they give me another psu and money for the 980 ti or nothing?

Personally I say two 980 Ti's are perfectly matched to a tier 1 850 watt power supply. Some people I know feel more comfortable with 1,000 watts, but I've never had a problem running mine on a 850 model. If your PSU dies, EVGA will replace it. Whether they will replace a damaged GPU due to their PSU.... you should speak to them directly with that question. I doubt they will confirm that. It's the kind of thing that you'd have to speak to a supervisor for special circumstances. But I also feel that it's very unlikely to happen.

With that said, I recommend that you step up to the EVGA P2 850, because it's only $10 more on NewEgg US. I feel like it's one of those might-as-well situations

stavrosmast! I didn't even pay attention to who I was responding to. You're a staple around here. Yeah man, go for the G2 850. It's a great PSU. I'm hoping that my future Pascal 1080 Ti comes with one of those EVGA 50% PSU coupons, so that I can upgrade to a EVGA T2 1600. I can dream, can't I?

It is sufficient. 980Tis under stress test are about 250W. Overclocked it could be near 300W. SLI that makes 600W, plus OC CPU and rest of system, probably 800W under a fully overclocked system under torture. The EVGA G2 850W has an actual 850W on its 12V rail alone, which is a great indication. It is perfectly sufficient. Under gaming conditions, your rig will probably hover around 550W.
