I'm going to be building a new Desktop with an i7 6700k, Gtx 980 Strix, 32GB(4x8GB) DDR4 Ram, an h100i, 6 Mechanical Hard Drives, 2 ssds, and a Bluray drive. I currently have a 600 Watt power supply(CX600).
The Corsair CX600 is a poor quality power supply. Once you get into the territory of owning a $400 CPU and a $440 GPU, you should definitely buy a quality PSU, not because it "doesn't have enough wattage" but because it's poor quality. For details on what I mean, read this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2958896/guide-low-quality-power-supply.html

turkey3 is right, my corsair 600m got fried over the course of two years, i was lucky that it was the only thing damaged in my build, with as many components as you have running at once you'd probably want more than 600w anyway
Here's 4 to consider , all first rate quality.

Alright, i do actually plan to upgrade to a modular power supply, i just have to wait another 2 weeks after i get the rest of my parts to buy it, i just wanted to know if it would be enough to hold me over until then.
Will be upgrading completely in 8 weeks, but in 4 ill be able to get the 980 and power supply, if i have to hold off for the rest of the build my current build should be more than enough to work with. My main weakness is the 7870 im currently using.
