i have an gtx 960 2gb,i5-4690,G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB x2, 1tb hd, ASRock H97M Pro4 mobo. i need a new gpu 2gb is not cutting it, but i only have a Antec VP-450 450W, was woundering if i could run a MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GD5T OC (299$) or am i stuck with a 960. only have 300$ to spend just bought a LG 25UM56-P Black 25" IPS . thank you for your time! another thought i had was, getting a r9 380x and a psu, would a 380x be better then a gtx 960(4 gb version)?

Both the GTX 970 and the R9-380x will be underpowered by the Antec 450W PSU. While Nvidia requires a 500W PSU for the GTX 970, that is the reference model only. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications
OC'ed versions will need more than that. Yes it will work, but you will be taking your PSU beyond its capabilities.

The R9-380X is a 190W card and requires a 550W or better PSU.
