Every since I got this thing (it is a prebuilt) it's been a pain in my ass honestly. The computer came with a 560 but I upgraded to a 760. Everywhere I look people are getting solid 60's on Fallout 4 and other games that I struggle to run.

I even overclocked my CPU to 4.0 from the stock 3.5 and saw fuck all in terms of performance increase. My GPU temperatures never exceed the 50-60 pretty much and my cpu temps never exceed the 40's from what I've seen, although my computer raises the temperature in my room by atleast 30 degrees all the time.

Everywhere I see somebody has a different solution. "Upgrade your bios" "Buy a better PSU".
I just want to identify the problem.

Solution
Its a prebuilt, they dont care about anything other than selling it to you.
Thats why they use cheap power supplies and low end motherboards.

a 760 should get ~40 to ~50 fps average on ultra in fallout 4

your cpu is weak however, so you need to switch off godrays, and turn down shadow distance

also force tessellation to 8x

you might need to also tweak other settings

adding iFPSClamp=60 to the fallout4.ini under "general" also helps

I'm not sure. I bought it prebuilt, I didn't think somebody would give me a computer that couldn't run an upgraded graphics card.

Thanks but it's not just Fallout 4.

So I can't even upgrade my graphics card or anything, that wouldn't help? I'm stuck without the money to replace it?
