ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti MATRIX vs. ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX vs. ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX: which one is the best?

Solution
The Asus Matrix is one of the all-time uber cards in the GTX 980 Ti line, and one of the best cards on the market, bar none. Even with that, you would need to decide if an uber overclocking card is right for you. The Strix card also ticks off many of the same boxes with upgraded components, a custom PCB, and a high quality cooler. The Matrix is all that, but a little more high-end.

One key difference is that the Strix has "0 dB" fans that stay off in idle. The Matrix fans run at all times. The Matrix is also a triple slot design, so it takes up a little more room.

The Matrix is the best, comes with the highest core clock. The Strixx comes in two models, the base and the OC edition. I went with the OC edition (STRIX-GTX980TI-DC3OC-6GD5-GAMING)which has a higher core clock and the GPU is binned a little better for OC headroom

I placed my order for the Matrix. I wanted to save a little money, but I figured that since I didn't skimp on anything else in my build, that I shouldn't skimp on the video card, so I went with the Matrix. I'm sure I'll love it, but I really have nothing even remotely close to it to compare it to.
