1) what screen resolution are you playing on?
2) i5 is not the best choice with a 980Ti, but that shouldn't be a problem, i'm just saying
3) 600W PSU? It's quite tight for such a gaming rig

Dignified

i5 and gtx 980 Ti is a fine as combo.

600w PSU will be tight dependent on the OEM of PSU,

it feels to me like its software related, maybe an anti virus is holding you back

Yeah dude, 1080p + 980Ti should get you a BAZILLION fps, you're right

Well this is strange

What's the maximum frequency of your monitor? Maybe you activated vsync and it's locking your framerate

Well, you're well off then
Just use vsync in every game, and you'll be getting CONSTANT 60 FPS in every game.

1) 980 Ti is a waste on 1080p, it's great for 1440p

2) you should have bought a gtx970, it's cheaper and perfect for 1080p

3) you have to consider that fps isn't everything! Getting 120fps is pretty useless, ESPECIALLY without v-sync. 60fps is the PERFECT gaming experience and trust me, you won't even notice the difference between 60 and 120fps
