I have a 3770k which when I insert into my motherboard (Asrock Extreme 4 Z77) I get the error message "B1 InitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000229" which flashes up for a fraction of a second. I had to video it to catch what it said!
When I go into the UEFI menu the chip is registered in BIOS and all the expected overclocking and configuration menus are there, in their defaults as I have reset CMOS.
My Googling skills show that this tends to be BIOS and HD related. And only seemingly reported with HP products.
Now for the conundrum. Without changing any BIOS settings at all, when I insert another cheaper chip I bought the machine boots normally and reliably.
Can anyone shed any light on to the health of my i7? I'll be quite sad if it's dead!
Thanks muchly,
Blaize
