Testing the waters for Z170 and DDR4. I think I've decided on everything except memory. I currently have a 2x8GB set of Crucial Ballistix DDR3. I don't always watch my HWMonitor sensors, but when I do the most I've noticed is ~12GB. Like I said, I'm not usually watching so I'm sure it could be higher.

My first question is what do you guys think of the Crucial Ballistix Elite and HyperX Savage for DDR4? I want something black and it obviously needs to be DDR4 if I'm going to Z170. Here are the products in question:

Is speed a big issue for DDR4? I can get 2133-2400MHz kits for ~$20 less, but I've read speed is pretty important and latency is less of an issue in DDR4.

Also, as I mentioned before I'm using quite a bit of my current 16GB kit under some loads. Would it make sense to go ahead and go for a 32GB kit?

Solution
Looks good, I'd change the mobo, (I won't build on MSI due to their poor QC), for Z170 might look at the Asus Z170-A or their Z170 Pro Gaming.

There's also a 2400MHz Savage at CL12 for $20 less. Should I stick with the 2800MHz Savage?

Kind of unrelated, but here's my prospective Z170 build including the Savage RAM. What do you think? The stuff marked as (purchased) are things I'm planning on carrying over from my current machine.
