Samsung 850 EVO or Samsung 850 EVO PRO

Hi there,

I have a parts list that I plan on building and I am debating wether I should put in the extra money into the 850 Evo Pro or just stick with the standard. My main questions are is it worth it for the money. I can provide you with the specs if you need them. Someone said that since I have SATA 3 on my mobo then the Pro would go even faster (Or something like that I dont really remember. Thanks

To make it blunt, the 850 Pro is not worth the money unless you want the warranty. Provides essentially the same speed at a considerably higher price point. Not worth the purchase imo.

Only get the Pro version if you want the extended warranty.... other than that, I don't think it would be worth the extra money... besides, in a couple of years you're more likely to want to upgrade to something else anyway.

I have a samsung 850 pro and love it, my brother has an EVO and the speed difference is negligible. The samsung 850 Pro looks better on paper (speed wise) but you won't ever notice a difference between the two, that being said either way you are getting a great ssd.
