It's best to avoid numbers especially talking about exact amperage because the rest of the system has an effect on that requirement. It's best to simply look at reviews of the GPU and see what stress test load is for it. You'd be surprised that most high-end GPUs for brief instances may draw near 400W. Even a GTX 970 has shwon to draw greater than 300W. But these values are unrealistic except in these torture tests, and aren't constant, so it's good to look into normal load under a stress test as a generalization for what type of PSU to buy.
