Do I have to reinstall windows onto my SSD (originally on HDD) if I add an SDD on my computer?

So I am purchasing a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series. It comes with a 1TB 5.4k Hybrid HDD + 8G Cache. (First of all, what does the 8G cache even mean? I thought cache memory only holds I/O data and you really don't need more than 64MB? - I might be stone-age talking here)

Anyway, I'm purchasing a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SATA III SDD. The problem is, my laptop will come with Windows 10 pre-installed onto my HDD. Do I have to install the OS (Windows 10) onto my SDD once I connect it for any real performance boost? If so, how do I even do that (since I won't have a disk installation for Windows 10)?

A fresh install is the recommended method when upgrading your primary storage drive. However, you'd need to unplug the old one from the system while clean installing Windows 10 onto the SSD.
Just make sure you have the data from your current SSHD backed up somewhere off-site before you tamper with the storage. Once you have the OS up and running on the SSD, you'd be required to format your old booting drive in order to avoid any confusion. Cloning is another option but you risk transferring all the redundant files from the previous installation, which could potentially affect the system performance.
