Just in the middle of using dell USC to deploy an OS on a server and it keeps asking me for the system drivers

'Before installing an operating system, Provide the source for system drivers'

Where can I get the system drivers from I've looked on the dell website and there's a drop down for os deploy drivers but its an exe and won't copy over to a disk

Solution

Shaun98,

I'm not an expert on servers, but here's an idea:

One possibility is that the RAID controller has not been installed, so the OS install can not see the target drive. If the system has a PERC go to Dell support and read the instructions for installation and collect the drivers on a USB drive. First try Select media bootable
Try both of them and tell me what happens, iff it's still making issues than you're bios has the wrong config

Also trying with a win 7 pro iso and it loads up but when it comes to select a drive to install on it only picks up my USB drive and not the 2 1tb hard drives in my system

Shaun98,

I'm not an expert on servers, but here's an idea:

One possibility is that the RAID controller has not been installed, so the OS install can not see the target drive. If the system has a PERC go to Dell support and read the instructions for installation and collect the drivers on a USB drive. During installation when Install asks for drivers, install can see the drivers on the USB, can initiate the controller, and the system drives will be usable.

Here's an example of the page, this for R610:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/poweredge-t610/drivers

But the PERC controllers have separate sections and these have to searched by model designation. In particular, look for the drivers called "Pre-OS".

I hope.
