Hello guys. I recently bought a new i3 6100 and i wrongly placed the stock cooler. I removed it and placed it back again without removing or reapplying thermal paste, i just simply removed it and placed it back again. Will there be a problem with my cpu? I dont have thermal paste at the moment. Please help. Thanks

You will be fine using an i3. It is standard practice to re-apply thermal paste after every removal of the heatsink, but for non overclocking parts, you can do 1 time exceptions.

The issue with removing the heatsink is that you may create large bubbles in the paste which will ruin the contact between the heatsink and the CPU. If not producing too much heat, this will not be an issue as even a good size bubble will not trap enough heat to damage anything (maybe the fan will just run a little harder). Also if not pulling it off and back on repeatedly will result in the chance of bubbles being lower.

Check the temps, if it idles around 35*C or less then you are good. As long as it never spikes over 70*C during regular use, you are fine.

In the meantime, source some new thermal paste and replace it when you can.

Okay thanks guys. First time building a pc without proper guidance. Also, if i wrongly placed some motherboard case interface pins will there be an issue when i turn on my pc, like the power and reset pins? My motherboard's manual has unclear instructions/labels.

I think you should be fine unless you bend the pins. But on the motherboard itself it should say what each set of prongs is... Same goes for the cables.
