I am new to the world of speakers, so i don't know much about them. i just got gifted a brand new desktop now i am looking to buy nice speakers (sub if needed).
my setup:
I have the G1 gigabyte motherboard, which i believe it has a decent sound card (i do not know much about sound cards or speakers.)
my budget for speakers is between 0-400 dollars, however if there is something that will last a life time and it will blow my mind away i am willing to spend 500.
Sound: I like clear sound, the quality/clarity of sound matters a lot to me since i program, i will be using them for long periods of time. I also like bass, but again clarity of sound is much more important
I listen to all range of music: Pop, Classic, Jazz, Rock
Space: my setup is in the college size town home, in the living room.
number of people that will listen at max: at max there will be 10 people sitting around
What i have looked at so far:
1-Audioengine 5+ -> is it worth 500$?
2-Klipsch - Reference 5-1/4" Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) - Black
3-Harman Kardon Soundsticks III 2.1
4-Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
