Hi folks,

My pc specs are as follows:

I7-6700k
R9 Fury X
16GB DDR4 2133 RAM
EVGA Gold 850w PSU
Windows 10 Home edition

While playing any game, this pc runs everything buttery smooth. However, at random, the pc freezes, and an awful, incredibly loud static sound starts blasting through the speakers. The sound isn't constant, and it will slow in frequency for a half second, then continue to blast away. IT is all over the place. The only way to stop it is to hard reset the pc.

It isn't a gpu issue, as my games all run 2560x1080 at 60-100 fps on max settings. Temps for my CPU and GPU are 20 degrees idle, and nothing reaches 50 degrees on load. So temps are fine. I ran a memory test, and no issue came up.

Its frustrating that I can't figure out whats happening. Any help?

this definitely sounds like a crash, and very well could be a gpu or cpu crash. it doesnt mean they're broken or overheating, but something could be causing a random instability.
my first things to check would be making sure you cleanly install the latest drivers. second, do you have any overclocks? they can cause random instability like that. you can test them with stress tests for the gpu and cpu. i would try the tests before changing everything to be sure they can cause a crash under current conditions, otherwise a comparison would be pointless.
lastly...i suppose it could be a ram dimm. you could try stress testing with each dimm installed 1 at a time if the other ideas dont seem to help. however, in my personal...

Hey I am having the same issue , it all started after I updated my graphics card to a new 970 4gb , it is already overclocked from the factory, could it be the graphics card ? I am pretty sure cuz I had all the same components, with the old graphics card , and when I updated to the new one , it started to make these issues
