I am about to building a pretty powerful gaming PC (i7-6700k, crossfire 290x, samsung 950) for the purposes of a gaming on a 4k 70 inch tv. Just realized 290x's dont do 60hz but rather have to buy an adapter for displayport to hdmi.

Anyone else game 4k on their tv?

Yeah, but that would be a moot point for the OP as the R9 290x doesn't have HDMI 2.0 capability, and would only be relevant if he wants to move to a newer GPU.
I wouldn't go crossfire for a setup. Always save the 2nd card to add on later down the road to give your system some more life and not right off the bat.

I would go like 980ti or something. Handles 4K@60 properly. From what I've seen, there isn't a lot of displayport to hdmi adapters and some have issues. What TV do you have?

I'm pretty sure it won't work out at all if you try to use a TV.
They're so finicky it's a nightmare to get them working, and they rarely actually stay at 60hz.
I'm also pretty sure unless it's actually a displayport capable tv/monitor, it won't actually do 60hz, adapters will limit you down everytime.

There is many HDMI 2.0 capable TV's now, so please don't make statements if you don't know. HDMI 2.0 is fully capable of 4K gaming at 60FPS.
