i have asrock z170 extreme 7+ i already had 8 gb (2*4) installed and works PERFECT bought another 8 of same kind and tried to install but keep getting code c4 for some reason, anyone know why? i have cleared cmos and bios also

Try the new set by itself, if that works go into BIOS and bump your voltage up by 0.02 volts on the memory, then install the rest of the memory.

check your motherboards manual for proper placement for your ram sticks. also it is never a guarantee added ram will work with older sticks, even if it is the same make/model. have you tried just running on the new 8gb and removing the old to see if it works?
