Hello there! So about a year ago, stupid me bought a pre built PC from CyberPowerPC for a bunch of money, and it was awesome at first, but I want to be able to play games with better frame rate and such. Please consider that I am a noob with PC's and just suck with this sort of thing in general. One thing I did do after I got the PC was replace the graphics card and that really helped, but I want to improve it more. I would like to keep the budget under $400-500 if possible, I don't want to completely replace the whole PC, just the stuff that will really help in performance. here is hopefully everything that you need to know about my build, if you need to know more, lemme know :) i wanna be able to play the newer games coming out with good FPS

Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P34(FX) (MS-7641) (CPU1)
Graphics Card: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (MSI)
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz
Power Supply: 500w
Storage: 931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 ATA Device (SATA)
CPU:AMD FX-4300
Vishera 32nm Technology

i got most of this from a program called Speccy

Problem is, you need to replace quite a bit, probably starting with that PSU. Cyberpower's standard PSU's are junk. The motherboard is not a good model, and AM3+ is dead. Sadly a new board, would probably mean new copy of Windows also, unless you bought your own retail copy. One option, which would put you on the current gen CPU/motherboard, would be this. You could then reuse everything else, in your system.

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($122.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus B150M-A D3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($72.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB Superclocked+ ACX 2.0 Video Card...

Solution
Well its not bad for the age with the exception of the motherboard. Particularly it looks like it only supports 95W CPUs, which limits your options a little. Also the fact it only has two memory slots is a bit of a pain.

You could go with these parts

Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($73.88 @ Newegg)

Awesome, thank you so much! Just one quick question, if I didn't want to get all of it at once, could i buy certain parts first and then get the rest at a later date? Or do I absolutely need to get all of them at once? I'll probably eventually get all of it but I don't think ill buy all of them at once.
