just build pc, reformatting the hdd and usb stops working

So I just got all my stuff, and put it all together. I am reformatting my hdd via USB drive and everything works until I get to the install windows screen in which my mouse and keyboard shut off. I am so confused on what to do now.

Are the keyboard and mouse plugged into USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports?
The Windows installer does not support USB 3.0.

Well I think 3.1/0 that was the only plug from the case I am not sure how to make 2.0 work, but they are plugged in to 3.0 I think

Just switch your keyboard and mouse to USB 2.0 ports instead of USB 3.0.

If you can't find USB 2.0 Look in the back of the System unit to find the black colored USB. Ply your installation media there

Will the 2.0 work if the only plug on the case and mobo for 3.0

You get USB 2.0 on every motherboard. Look for black colour USB Port. If you can't identify them below is a link.
