specs: GT 740 / i3-4170

question: What is the ambient temperature in the room where the computer is located?

question: Who is the vendor of your GT 740? EVGA? MSI? Whoever it is, open a trouble ticket. If you end up not needing the RMA, then you've lost nothing but a few minutes of time.

request: Please take a photo of the inside of the case, to show air flow.

virus or trojans: Scan now using these two tools: ADW Cleaner and Combofix.

Turn off Windows defender while running these tools, if possible. If not, it's okay, the scans will just take longer.

Wow, nice text wall. 107°C is way beyond the limit. What is your card? The newer ones will slow down to protect themselves after 80°C.

If yours is an old one it might be dying or your cooling is failing.

Well, if your not that of a gamer, buy a GTX 750ti or somthing around that level or if you REALLY like that card try to change its thermal paste and clean up the heatsink and fan.

Good luck if you choose the second one.

Also, adding one extra case fan (I'm assuming your motherboard is very simple and has only 1 extra fan connector) may help with the temps by blowing hot air out of the case.

* Save your work, as both of these utilities will reboot your computer.
* Run ADWCleaner and click "yes" or "okay" to every single prompt; scan will take 5 minutes.
* Run Combofix and click "yes" or "okay" to every single prompt; scan will take 30 minutes.

drivers: Run DDU (Wagnards Display Driver Uninstaller) utility to complete remove drivers, which should automatically boot your computer into safe mode, and then download and install a fresh copy of drivers. Any change?
