I have problems with installing a Nvidia gtx 750TI Palit StormX OC edition with 2Gb gddr5 memory on a server board: Intel S5000xsl with 2x Xeon E5440 and 32Gb memory.
I have ordered one graphics card and installed this in my Intel computer. The first time it started to boot, and I could use it. However, when I rebooted, I had to disconnect the power supply, otherwise the screen stayed dark. After a few times I could not get any video out of the card anymore. Then I returned the card, and ordered a new one.
The new one does not work at al.
I have tryed in two identical systems, but in both Intel computers, the card does not work. Both Intel computers are running fine with an Nvidia Quatro FX370. There seems nothing wrong with the computers itself.
The graphics card, when I put it in a dual Celeron system, Supermicro H8DCE it works fine.
When I install the power supply from the Celeron system into the Intel system, the card is not working.
When the Intel computer is started, and monitor connected to the onboard graphics card, I don't see the card listed with lspci in Linux.

The power supply is a:
DPS-670DB A
Output 670W Max
+3.3v 24.0A Max
+5VSB 3.0A Max
+5V 30.0A Max
+12.0V1 16.0A Max
+12.0V2 16.0A Max
+12.0V3 16.0A Max
+12.0V4 16.0A Max
-12.0V 0.5A Max
+5V & +3.3V Total output not exceed 170W
Max. Combined load on +12V output not exceed 48A
I read on the forum, the card should be backwards compatible with older pci busses. As far as I see, it is X8 pci-express, and should be no problem.
I have seen the card working, only very short, but it suggest it should be posible.
(When it worked, It worked really nice)
Now my idea's are exhausted, and I hope some one know how I can get this Intel board with the NVidia card working.
Kind regards,
René
