I have a new Lenovo 50-45 that was operating extremely slow. I closed a few apps that were eating resources and polished up what I could but no improvement. So, I installed more Ram. The guy at Best Buy told me that all RAM sticks were virtually the same. He sold me a PNY 4gb DDR3. The computer froze. The stick that was in it said it was a Samsung Product. Did he sell me the wrong stick?

It supports DDR3L RAM. If the PNY is not working, then you may need to go for the lower voltage of DDR3 - DDR3L.
