Yes, you absolutely need more voltage. I'd probably try bumping it up slightly, in small increments, until it becomes stable, then once it doesn't crash windows, repeat the process until it becomes stable in Prime 95 v26.6 on small FFT.

If you are impatient, you can try just going straight to 1.35 and adjusting up or down from there depending on whether it's stable and what thermals do. Some people have seen stability somewhere around that voltage, others have had to go much higher.
In the BIOS there's an option for Advanced Clock Calibration. All you need to do is set EC Firmware Selection to Hybrid, and ACC to Auto. If that doesn't work then you have an older Phenom II x2 and it's not going to work regardless of what you do.

My CPU voltage is 1.500v on default, so 1.35v is a big decrease

Your stock voltage should be no higher than 1.325v, so 1.5v should not be the default voltage. This article has all the information you should need if your chip is going to play nice. 1.5v might even be too high and might be instantly spiking the temperatures which is causing it to shut down or error out. I could be wrong, as I haven't worked with one of those chips in some time, but I don't think so.
